At CarboQuímica, we continue to advance on our sustainability roadmap. During the 2019-2024 period, we achieved a 48% reduction in our CO₂e emissions (scopes 1 and 2) per net sales. Our 2019 baseline was 11,273 tons of CO₂e in scope 1 and 2,266 tons in scope 2. By 2024, our emissions stood at 7,746 tons and 1,979 tons respectively. This 48% decrease was achieved through continuous improvement in the efficiency of our operations and the growth of our net sales.

This progress is the result of a series of technical and strategic actions implemented in our operations, including: boiler automation, increased capacity of our reactors, utilization of energy generated by other production lines, and the implementation of a cascade manufacturing system that allows us to increase production without increasing energy consumption.

These efforts complement efficiency initiatives implemented in previous years, such as reactor redesign, optimization of the operational scheme, and continuous work in process engineering.

Today, we continue to strengthen our commitment to sustainable development and the fight against climate change. Our projected goal for 2025 is to achieve a 50% reduction in CO₂e emissions per net sales (scopes 1 and 2). Additionally, we have already begun calculating part of our scope 3 emissions and are working on defining short- and long-term reduction targets for all three scopes.
